Management Team

David PILFOLD, Managing Director

David is the founder of Domain Solutions. He has more than 20 years’ experience as a software professional. Prior to forming the company in 1995, David held a series of consultancy, project management and team leader positions, most notably with EDS, BAe Systems, Cogent Defence Systems, Siemens, Ascom Business Systems, GCHQ and RSRE. Inspired by Shlaer-Mellor, David became an exponent of executable specifications before the Unified Modeling Language (UML) was in widespread use. His passion led directly to the inception and subsequent development of the CodeGenie MDA product from Domain Solutions. David holds a BSc(Hons) in Computer Science from Southampton University, and is a Chartered Member of the British Computer Society.

Robert AYNSWORTH, Director

Robert is a twenty year veteran of the software industry. Prior to his appointment as director of Domain Solutions in 2000, Robert gained considerable experience in the development of air traffic management systems. Earlier in his computing career, Robert held technical team leader positions with both Raytheon and EUROCONTROL. Robert earned a BSc(Hons) in Electronic Engineering & Mathematics from the University of Nottingham. Robert holds a Certificate in Management Studies with distinction. He is an IET Chartered Engineer.

Alistair BLAIR, Methods Specialist

With over 20 years’ experience, Alistair has been associated with Domain Solutions since it was founded in 1995. Alistair started his computing career with Hewlett Packard and Ferranti before returning to academia as a lecturer in Computer Science, where he specialized in software engineering and artificial intelligence. Alistair established Shlaer-Mellor’s UK operation in November 1997. Since then, he has held management positions with both Programming Research and BSkyB. Alistair was awarded a BSc(Hons) in Computer Science from the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow.
